James Silverstein

James E. Silverstein is a Los Angeles-based Criminal Defense Attorney, and an Associate in the Law Offices of James E. Blatt.  Mr. Silverstein was a Dean’s List student at California State University, Northridge, where he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Studies and a Minor in Political Science. While in school, Mr. Silverstein was the Vice President of the CSUN Pre-law Society.

James Silverstein then excelled in his legal studies, earning a Juris Doctorate cum laude from Glendale University College of Law. While in Law School, James E. Silverstein won numerous American Jurisprudence Awards for his scholastic performance, including awards in Criminal Law, Agency & Partnership, Community Property, Constitutional Law, Ethics, Legal Writing, Remedies, Sales, Torts, and Trusts. James E. Silverstein also served as an editor for the Glendale Law Review, for which he authored an article that was published nationally.

Prior to joining the Law Offices of James E. Blatt, James E. Silverstein was a Judicial Law Clerk in the Los Angeles Superior Court, Van Nuys Branch. James E. Silverstein then received extensive training in criminal prosecution as a Certified Law Clerk with the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Offices, in the Bureau of Fraud and Corruption, where he worked on complex insurance fraud cases.

Today, attorney Silverstein represents clients at all stages of state and federal criminal proceedings, including trials, post-conviction relief, and appeals. Mr. Silverstein also conducts research and motion preparation. His attention to detail and ability to communicate well with others aids him in achieving positive results for his clients.

James Silverstein recently won a not-guilty verdict from a Van Nuys jury in People v. Dodson, case # 7PY00302, a case where his young client was charged in a multiple-count complaint with domestic violence and vandalism.

James Silverstein is active in the Beverly Hills Bar Association, the Los Angeles County Bar Association, and the San Fernando Valley Bar Association.
